Update...

Ok, so now that I'm NOT sitting around feeling sorry for myself....

We sat around all day today and the only thing that got accomplished was a few naps, a load of dishes and a few loads of laundry. BUT we did it together. =) amazing how that makes a difference in the loneliness factor, huh?

We went to the drag strip last night. Jody wanted to put our friend Adam's car to the test. He and Adam built the motor (honda v-tech) and put turbo/boost on it. The track is a 1/8th mile, and he got the time down to 9.5. He was having difficulty gettting the front tires to grab, so hopefully with different tires, it'll go faster. :) AND he raced against his friends Mustang.... and kicked butt all night long... GO HONDA!!! lol, giggle.....

Also, some of the "married friends" showed up, and I got to hang with some cool women! Ginger dropped the hubby and kids, lost the car seats and put on her helmet as soon as they got through the gates. I'm not sure how many trips down the track she took, but she's a pretty good driver. :) We joked about putting the hybrid on the track for the giggle factor... maybe one day. Before it goes back to sit in the driveway in Concord.

Beth, I so get how much fun you had. Jody was saying that it was too bad that you didn't live closer so that he and Chad could race. :) Our door is open, little sister. :) We'll even make sure the place is child proof for my adorable nephews. The offer is extended to ALL my family, by the way. :) (just give me enough notice to make sure the beds get made and floor vacuumed, at least!)

Ok, I'll sign this... a much happier gwen marie

I totally agree. It is fun to have something to do that you both enjoy. It's just too bad that the races have to be on hold for a couple of years. Maybe if work will give Chad a 30% payraise...anyway, have fun at the races, and don't go dishing on Ponies. We do have a National Record after all.

Wait!!! I didn't know you had a National Record... do tell! :) And I had to make fun of the Pony, cause, well, I just had to... I love my sisters!!! They are AWESOME!!!

Well, the record is reset now, but in stock eliminator, there is a record for each class that is good for 2 years. When we were still racing, we went up to the Billings, Mt track, and for F/FI, (that's F stock class, Fuel Injected) we set the record. That also includes being able to back it up and having your engine torn down and inspected, and then putting it back together and racing the next day. That's enough fun to do in the garage, but imagine doing that at the track, in like 100 degree heat, and having the officials check out everything on your engine to make sure everything is within specifications. We did have a friend come with us who could assist Chad in "tearing down" the engine. I of course was pregnant with Benjamin, so you can imagine how much good I did. But we did break the record, and were able to back it up, and even got a nice certificate to show for it. And we got to put on our back window, "National Record Holder". Pretty cool bragging rights. But now the car sits in the trailer, waiting for the ph.D. to be completed. One day...
